Fiberglass Swimming Pools

Hydro One shares the 4 benefits of Fiberglass Swimming Pools that separates Fiberglass pools with other pools:

Throughout the years of sharing and installation we’ve noticed a pattern is that whenever we mentioned a benefit of fiberglass pools to a customer, they would react the same way when we first learned about them.

They were aware of the advantages, but they were unaware of the magnitude of those advantages compared to traditional pools.

Hence, we compiled a list of benefits for our Fiberglass Pools so to educate consumers:

Pools made of fibreglass are less difficult to maintain.

Both vinyl and concrete pools require a lot of upkeep. We could stop there, but then you wouldn't understand the full scope of the situation.

Things that would wreak havoc on a liner or a concrete pool are no match for fibreglass. If you use the wrong chemicals in a vinyl or liner pool, you could be looking at a large repair bill.

While a miscalculation in chemical dosage can cause a liner to fade or a concrete shell to disintegrate, a fibreglass shell can take a beating and not notice.

Fiberglass pools do not require resurfacing like concrete pools do, nor do they require new liners like vinyl pools do. These maintenance items not only cause a great deal of downtime, but they can also be quite costly.

Pools made of fibreglass require less energy to heat.

This is a huge deal that should not be overlooked. This is one of the most important cost-of-ownership benefit of a fibreglass pool. Every year, we talk to people who already have a vinyl or gunite pool and are thinking about switching to fibreglass because the cost of heating their current pool is higher than the cost of removing and installing a fibreglass pool. Many more people simply have pools that are too cold for them to swim in, and as a result, they do not swim as often as they would like.

Fiberglass pools are easier to install.

A fibreglass swimming pool can be installed in as little as one day and the whole process can be done in only 7 days!  This is something that no other type of swimming pool can claim. Most vinyl liner pool dealers take up to one month to complete, while gunite pool builders can take up to three months.
